I’d say something along the lines of “Just because you’re calling tone argument, doesn’t mean they’re actually using the tone argument.
“Ask yourself whether the elements they’re singling out as ‘attacks’ really are attacking someone. Are you attacking the ideas, the actions, or the people? Can you mount a coherent defense of your statements, beyond claiming ‘tone argument’? Restate the points that they’re failing to address.”
